Man on mountain

We are going to pick our text from

Acts 2:1-12 - 1When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. 7Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 8And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? 9Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” 12So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”13Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”

We must develop relentless and tenacious faith and decide to lock into what God has said. If we are going to fulfill the call and purpose of God for our lives, we must have a determined mind and attitude. We need to know that it does not matter who is not for us or whose support we don’t have. if God be for us, who can be against us. We have to look at the mountain before us, and the thing that says we will never make it and say "I’ll never give up."

Apostle Peter, in our text, was addressing the people on the new dispensation on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Ghost was moving, and people were looking at the apostle and asking, “What is the meaning of this?” This is not a new thing because when God begins to move, people begin to question.  And here is the difficulty of being a child of God – If anyone reads about your life or sees your life in the contradiction stage, then the struggle to accept you in the success stage is difficult. They cannot understand how you, a carpenter’s boy born in the manger can turn into a messiah doing great and mighty things for Jehovah God. They try to justify where God has put you with where you have been.

When you get out of the boat and start walking on water, they have to justify why they are still sitting down in their place of comfort.

But we must learn how to keep going and keep doing in the midst of controversy. We should not allow anything to pull us out from what God has promised us. In Mat 12:22-24 - 22Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. 23And all the multitudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”24Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.” It didn’t make sense to them. The sought to crucify Jesus because they couldn’t justify themselves.

You have to know who you are and whose you are. Walking with God requires a period where you are misunderstood before you will ever be understood. That is why we cannot afford for any setback to stop us permanently. When a pregnant woman is set to give birth, everything stretches out of place. Her feet swell up, her body begins to change. That is the same way it is with greatness. With trials come tribulations, but after then there is a crown.

Some of us do not have the friends we had years ago, we no longer have the job we had then because God is stretching us into a new level, and He loves us way too much to leave us the same.

Whatever the controversy, whatever the adversity, DO NOT EVER GIVE UP ON WHAT GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO DO.

God bless you.
