Sad lady

A great man of God, Joel Osteen, says the depth of your past is an indication of the height of your future. I couldn’t agree more. when construction workers are going to build a big skyscraper, for instance, they first have to dig down deep and lay a foundation. The taller the intended building, the deeper the foundation.

You may have gone through, or be in an unfair situation. Maybe you have lost a loved one, or a friend betrayed you. Perhaps you are dealing with a sickness. While it is easy to settle there with a pity party and get discouraged, you have to realize God is going down deep because he has something big in your future.

You may be low right now but God is getting you in position to rise higher. There are new levels in front of you, new levels of joy, new levels of influence, new relationships, new opportunities right in your future. Don't let what you've been through become your identity. Don't become known as the person that lost a loved one, the person that had cancer, the person that went through a divorce. Don’t answer to the name of a past predicament. That is not who you are. That is what you went through.

You are a child of the Most High God, created in His image with a destiny to fulfill. Your name is not sorrow, sadness, defeat, mediocrity. Your name is victory, your name is joy, your name is favor, your name is hope, your name is bright future. No matter what life deals you, you got to have the attitude; I am in it to win it.

You have to say to yourself: I may have been through a lot but I've come too far to stop now. I'm not going to get bitter, not going to live my life negatively. I am going to keep moving forward knowing that what is in my future is greater than what is in my past.

God is not going to let one event or one person ruin your life. He is not going to let a disappointment, a bad break, lousy childhood and injustice to stop your destiny. All the forces of darkness cannot stop what God has ordained.

While God is set to beautify your future and erase the memory of your gloomy past, you also have a part to play: you have got to fight off the self pity. Fight off the resentment, fight off the bitterness. But if you will keep moving forward, the right ingredients will show up. David said in the book of Psalms 23:5 [AMP] Yes, let none who trust and wait hopefully and look for You be put to shame or be disappointed; let them be ashamed who forsake the right or deal treacherously without cause.

Certainly we will have temporary setbacks, temporary disappointments. But if we keep hoping, keep trusting, keep honoring God we are going to see how He is going to somehow, someway work it all together for our good.

You won't be permanently disappointed.
